On November 2, 2020 United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) together with the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized webinar on “Preparation to pretest census in Donishmand mahalla of Yashnabad district of Tashkent city”.
Representatives of the State Statistics Committee introduced the main objectives and the order of organizing pretest census. It is important to note that pretest census is planned to be conducted in Tashkent region at the end of November and beginning of December, 2020.
The programme of the seminar included the presentation on “Tasks of testing the draft questionnaire forms for conducting a population census in the field " made by Galina Sherbakova (international expert on Census) and also presentation on “Nationality and statelessness-mapping questions during national population censuses”, prepared by Marin Roman (UNHCR). Interesting discussion was also lead by Irina Zbarskaya, Head of the Social demographic statistics department of CIS Statistics committee, Francois Begeot, Head of Cooperation, EU Delegation in Uzbekistan and UNFPA consultant Luisa Engracia.
The webinar was attended by representatives of UNFPA CO in Uzbekistan, international consultants on census, representatives of State Statistics Committee and Statistics department of Tashkent, 20 enumerators and 5 instructors.
At the end of the webinar participants were informed regarding the period of conducting the pretest census.
