The Programme Analyst is located in UNFPA Uzbekistan Country Office and reports to the UNFPA Assistant Representative. Main Tasks & Responsibilities |
|
The Programme Analyst substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of Population and Development. S/he analyses and assesses relevant political, social and economic trends and provides substantive inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. The Programme Analyst guides and facilitates the delivery of UNFPA’s programmes by monitoring results achieved during implementation. S/he ensures and guides the appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary. The Programme Analyst supports programme staff to select and apply appropriate data collection methods, and interpret results to assess sector trends, and to formulate project interventions. You would be responsible for:
Work relations: The Programme Analyst facilitates the work of consultants, advisors, and experts and establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with counterparts in government, multi-lateral and bilateral donor agencies and civil society to address emerging issues. S/he must effectively influence counterparts from diverse backgrounds to jointly contribute to achieving UNFPA’s mandate. The staff member is a substantive contributor to the programme team in the Country Office, and to relevant UN results and support. Internal contacts include the Country Office team, network of Population and Development officers, advisors in the UNFPA Headquarters, Regional office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia. External contacts include other UN agencies in country, and counterparts and partners in Country programme activities, including international NGOs, experts etc. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Qualifications and Experience |
|
Education: Advanced Degree in Population study, Demography, Statistics, Economics, Public Administration, or related field. Knowledge and Experience: 2 years experience at the national or international level in designing, managing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating development programs and projects. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages required.
Languages: Fluency in English, Uzbek and Russian is required. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
