Analysis of the Hotline calls received during the period of 10-16 April 2020
Hotline service launched by the Gender Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with UNFPA and Civil Initiatives Support Center NGO started its operations on 10 April 2020 with a view of providing support to women, preventing harassment and gender based violence and includes legal, psychological and referral support.
Analysis of the calls received through the Hotline in the period of 10-16 April shows 121 registered calls.
Calls to a lawyer, psychologist and helpline operator were received from Tashkent city and Tashkent region as well as provinces and regions of the republic.
The appeals concerned issues such as domestic violence, issues related to divorce, child support payments, conflicts between parents over raising children, dissatisfaction with a court decision, labor disputes.
There were also cases where the hotline specialists prevented suicide attempts. As a result, 110 appeals were resolved positively.
