UNFPA prioritizes strengthened response capacities for helpline functioning under the Gender Commission during COVID pandemic

Hotline service has been established with a view of providing support to women, preventing harassment and gender based violence.

The quarantine period turned out to be a time of serious trials for many families. These days, in all countries of the world there is a growing trend in the number of family conflicts and divorces.

In this situation, in order to protect women's rights, prevent harassment and gender-based violence, the Gender Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives, launched the Hotline service starting from 10 April. Now women are able to receive the following services:

  • get free legal advice by calling +99897 137 26 26
  • counselling service by psychologist by calling +998 97 137 27 27
  • hotlime operator by calling +99897 137 24 24

Women will receive detailed answers from experts to all their questions.

The helpline service will function for three months.

The helpline service is open daily from 8-00 to 18-00 and will operate for three months during the quarantine period.
