The Position:

 

The Programme Analyst on Maternal and Child Health/Family Planning (MCH/FP) will support UNFPA Programme Specialist, SRH/HIV, in delivery of Country programme and achieving results under SRH programme and Family Planning. S/he will report directly to the Programme Specialist, SRH/HIV.

Job Purpose:

In the frame of the fifth UNFPA Country programme for the period of 2021-2025, the focus will be placed on strengthening sexual and reproductive health and rights, promotion of rights based family planning programme to accelerate the national commitments made in Nairobi towards ending unmet needs for family planning and ending maternal mortality. 

S/he will work under direct supervision of UNFPA SRH/HIV Programme Specialist and assist in MCH and FP sub-programme formulation, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.

 

You would be responsible for:

Assist and contribute to results based planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of the MCH and family planning sub-programme in line with national priorities and UNFPA country programme incorporating lessons learned. 

Helping in documenting knowledge about current and emerging trends in the area of MCH and rights based family planning by analyzing projects, strategies, approaches and documenting lessons learned and best practices, preparing success stories and reports, propose innovative approaches to MCH/FP programme. 

Assisting in resource mobilization to MCH/family planning by preparing relevant documentation, i.e. funding proposals, concept papers, project summaries, conference papers, speeches, donor profiles, and participating in donor meetings and public information events. 

Supporting the SRH/HIV Programme Specialist in his/her role as country office focal point in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and providing assistance in organizing and conducting donor meetings and public information events.

Supporting establishment of collaborative relationships with executing agencies, experts, government counterparts and other UN agencies to facilitate timely and efficient delivery of project inputs. Review and monitor the submission of implementing partner financial and narrative reports. 

Performing any other duties as assigned by the UNFPA Head of Office.

 

Qualifications and Experience 

 

Education: 

 

Advanced degree in medicine, ObGyn or midwifery, public health, and social sciences or related fields. 

Knowledge and Experience: 

Two years professional experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health, family planning, population and development, with extended experience in programme/ project management. 

Practical experience in design, execution, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of development projects, resources mobilization. 

Experience using office software packages and web-based management systems.

 

Languages: 

Fluency in English, Uzbek and Russian is required.
